Brett Rumford chooses Motocaddy over brand rivals!

Oliver Churcher - Friday, October 08, 2010

Australian European Tour star Brett Rumford has become the latest high-profile professional golfer to join forces with Motocaddy.

The three-time European Tour winner was preparing for a final effort to win big prize money in the Race to Dubai at his new home club, The Wisley in Surrey, but required the most reliable trolley to help his game.

After a bad experience with a rival trolley that left him stranded on the course, he turned to the brand that his in-laws back in Perth swear by and got himself a new Motocaddy S3 Digital.

“It’s just perfect,” said Brett, who is currently 28th on the European Tour money list for the year. “What I like about it is how it runs true – it just rolls through straight and doesn’t veer left or right like a lot of other trolleys do.

“Another thing is just how simple it is to operate,” he added. “It’s obviously very well made with solid components. The dials are easy to use and the whole thing with the lithium battery is so light. The opening and closing mechanism is great and it folds down in one go without anything catching.”

Brett, a three-time winner on the European Tour who finished runner up at the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles in August and tied 2nd at the Ballantine’s Championship in Korea last April, plans to use his S3 trolley a lot.

“I’ll be playing up to three or four times a week in practice in the weeks ahead and the trolley will be getting a lot of use,” he said. In fact, he’s so impressed with his Motocaddy that he’s arranged to have an S1 sent to Royal Perth to be available when he practices Down Under.

Brett joins current Europro Tour Order of Merit leader Daniel Gaunt and leading former amateur legend Gary Wolstenholme, who both use the S3 Digital on Tour.

Motocaddy S3 wins Todays Golfer Gold award - S1 wins bronze

Oliver Churcher - Friday, October 08, 2010

We are proud to announce that the Motocaddy S3 Digital has just been unveiled as the 5 star winner of the 2010 Todays Golfer magazine trolley test with the Motocaddy S1 Digital winning the bronze award!

Following extensive testing of the 16 models, the test panel described the 2010 S3 Digital as a 'Gorgeous, Gadget Packed Trolley'.

The magazine reported:

"Like the S1 Digital, the S3 version has a stunning-looking frame and the range of bags that go with it really do help in the aesthetics department. Ian awarded it full marks across the board, and paid particular attention to the two handed grip which he felt gave him good control. Fergus was also suitably wowed by the overall quality and said he found it very responsive and easy to use.

One area where the Motocaddy did particularly excel in was in the functions category – the display shows the speed you are travelling as well as the distance covered – you can reset this if you want to measure a particular shotdistance too. There’s also a lifetime reading that can’t be reset. This shows you just how many miles your S3 Digital has racked up. It also features an Adjustable Distance Control device – this allows you to send the cart off to a distance of up to 60 yards in five-yard increments. And for all of you who love an “app” on your iphone, the S3 Digital is even fitted with a USB port for you to plug your device into – and we aren’t joking. We thought it would be close between this and PowaKaddy’s Freeway II. Ultimately, the fact that this is £100 cheaper than the FW II certainly helped give this product the edge."

The panel awarded the S1 Digital with their bronze award and wrote:

Our quartet was incredibly impressed with the S1 Digital. The curvy looks are contemporary without being over the top and it was very easy to set up. The S-Series folding system means the trolley clicks together when it’s folded down too which makes it remarkably easy to lug about. Ian promptly gave it full marks in each section. Gadget-mad Dave admitted he would have liked a few more functions but for the money he agreed with the rest that it was a pretty impressive piece of trolley.

Golf Monthly reviews the Motocaddy S3

Oliver Churcher - Wednesday, April 21, 2010

Golf Monthly Magazine has just published their report on the brand new 2010 Motocady S3 Digital. Amongst their findings they write:

"The S3 Digital was surprisingly easy to assemble and use. It took about five minutes to put together and the Lithium battery version I tested folded down very neatly after use. Above all I found this extremely easy to handle while out on the course – the light touch meant I was never struggling to keep it going in the right direction. When I first saw the white design I wasn’t sure, but out on the course, with my bag on top, it looked superb."

Motocaddy Introduces 2 Year Warranties!

Adrian Richardson - Tuesday, March 02, 2010

Motocaddy, the most innovative brand in the motorised trolley market, has doubled the length of its warranties from 1 year to 2 years for all 2010 model trolleys, highlighting the outstanding build quality and reliability of the company’s product range.

The move incorporates warranties for the new-look S3 Digital and S1 Digital electric trolleys, plus the S1 Lite push trolley. Motocaddy’s powerful top-of-the-range lithium batteries already come with a 2-year warranty, while the standard and extended range lead acid batteries continue with a 1-year warranty. All warranties run from the date of purchase.

“This is a big step for us and indicates the faith we have in our products,” said Rod Brown, Managing Director of Motocaddy Ltd. “It is also an indication of our commitment to customer service.”

In addition to the re-styled S3 Digital and S1 Digital, Motocaddy’s 2010 range also includes a range of innovative new accessories and its first ladies’ trolley and bags. Products are available direct from www.motocaddy.com or from leading pro shops and golf retail outlets across the UK and Europe.

Motocaddy powers ahead with new S-Series range!

Oliver Churcher - Monday, March 01, 2010

New USB port & security features boost flagship S3 model!

Motocaddy, the most innovative brand in the powered trolley market, is introducing an exciting range of re-styled and improved trolleys and cart bags for the 2010 golf season packed with original features, sporty colours and a host of game improvement benefits.

The brand’s flagship S3 Digital model now incorporates several pioneering features new to the fast-growing powered trolley market, including:

• a ground-breaking USB port (right) that allows a GPS unit to be charged directly from the trolley’s battery without impairing performance;
• An exclusive security device that enables the owner to set a pin code to render the trolley useless to a would-be thief;
• ergonomic handle grips, plus new low-profile tyres to create a sportier look;
• a re-styled, multi-functional display screen and digital control panel making it incredibly easy to use – in effect like having your own tour caddy!;
• a new Alpine White finish to add to the popular black and titanium options; plus
• a new battery tray capable of holding a variety of different battery sizes, including the latest super-efficient Motocaddy Lithium battery.

The S3 Digital trolley is powered by a whisper-quiet 200w motor and either small, lightweight Panasonic batteries that can easily cope with 18 or 36 holes, or a powerful, super-lightweight Motocaddy Lithium battery designed as the most efficient and stylish option on the market.

“These improvements to our award-winning models can be credited to the helpful feedback we’ve had from serious golfers looking for the ultimate combination of style, features, reliability and value for money,” said Rod Brown, Managing Director of Motocaddy Ltd. “And it’s our constant drive for innovation – like the USB port for GPS device users – that continues to keep us one step ahead of other brands in the competitive powered trolley market,” he added.

Other standard features in the S3 Digital model are an adjustable distance control (ADC), that allows the user to set the trolley to travel independently anywhere between 5-60 yards/metres; a speedometer, time clock and improved battery meter; plus distance readings that can be reset at any time to determine the length of drives or distance past a yardage marker. It can even tell the user how far he or she has walked during a round or the total distance traveled by the trolley during its lifetime in miles or kilometers.

The S3 Digital model retails from £399.99.

New look S1 Digital for the 2010 season!

The original model in the S-Series, the highly-popular S1 Digital trolley has also been re-styled and upgraded for the coming season. Having set new standards when it was first introduced to the golf market, the S1 enters 2010 with a sportier look and feature upgrades that make it the outstanding powered trolley in its price range.

Like its illustrious brother, the new-look S1 offers:

• a sportier look thanks to new ergonomic handle grips and low-profile tyres;
• A new, easier to use speed control/on-off button;
• an Alpine White colour option, along with the black and titanium finishes.

The latest S1 Digital model also includes a new battery tray capable of holding a variety of different battery sizes, including the latest super-efficient and lightweight Motocaddy Lithium battery or the Panasonic battery that charges quickly and can cope easily with 18 holes on even the hilliest of courses.

The S-Series trolley frame common to both models is based on an aerospace-grade aluminium S-shaped design that is both ultra-lightweight and sturdy. A simple locking system and quick release wheels allows it to be folded down in one move for easy transportation and opened without any fuss at the golf course.

The S1 Digital retails from £299.99.
